so, dennis hastert, the house speaker (and front man for tom "the hammer" delay...the REAL power in the house of representatives) said that al qaeda wants kerry to win the election!! he's exactly backwards - 180 degress wrong! al qaeda (and osama bin laden) LOVE george w. bush (the chimp in chief) because the chimp has been the best recruiter for al qaeda on the planet. invading a muslim country; bombing and killing thousands of muslims; wearing his christian religion on his sleeve; all these things create wonderful public relations opportunities for osama. don't you think the islamic media (using satellites and other technology) is showing the whole islamic world the atrocities that bush is committing in iraq...from abu ghraib to killing children in bombings??? don't you think this is stirring up LOTS and LOTS of recruits who now really hate america??? even the moderates in the arab world can't defend bush...and are being drowned out by the ever more radicalized extreme of the lunatic muslim fringe.

and, bush loves osama and al qaeda! what better thing to replace the old "cold war" than a "war on terror"?? this justifies corporate welfare (military spending gone berserk); spying on americans (the so-called patriot act) and an excuse to do whatever he wants - jail people with no charges; hold prisoners indefinitely and in secret, etc. bush and osama are in love!! they should just get a room already! finally, if osama didn't exist, bush would have had to create him.....hey, wait a second, the first bush, and reagan and jimmy carter and the whole us government DID create him!! osama and his cohorts were "freedom fighter" then....they were the "mujahadeen" fighting the invasion of afghanistan by the old soviet union, in 1979. osama and al qaeda are "blow back" from an earlier era.....but more on that later. www.thenormaninvasion.com

if i ran the kerry campaign

i would have this slogan: kerry/edwards: for the people!

that's the slogan. every day i would highlight the bush administration's favoritism of corporate special interests over regular, midlle class folk. whether outsourcing and lost jobs; skyrocketing health care costs; 45 million people uninsured and thus a burden on the taxpayer; tax cuts heavily weighted for the rich; a budget deficit out of control; a "war on terror" that is nothing more than a smokescreen to hide government shovelling of tax dollars to corporate welfare (think halliburton) and an invasion of iraq that has turned into both a costly debacle (with no end in sight) and a perfect recruiting tool for osama bin laden. kerry has so much to work with, but once again we get this milquetoast, wimpy, clueless, democratic campaign. what a sad joke!

the dick speaks

dick cheney's comments were an open invitation to a swift, zinger back...but the dems blew it yet again. in response to cheney saying "we have to make the right choice or we'll be hit again"....edwards should have said "we made the wrong choice in 2000 and we DID get hit" or more appropriately..."the supreme court made the wrong choice and we GOT hit"...then edwards should have reminded everyone of paul o'neill's book (bush ignored terror, focused on iraq) and richard clarke saying the same thing. WHO WAS ASLEEP AT THE SWITCH WHEN WE GOT HIT ON SEPT. 11??? the dems lose yet another chance to turn the tables on these miserable rats!

the dick comment

today dick cheney said something like "it's important to choose the right candidate, because if you choose wrong, we will get hit again." this means that if you vote for kerry, we will get hit with another terrorist attack. the response is "we chose the wrong candidate in 2000, that's why we got hit the first time." why can't kerry just say that!?

the kerry campaign

this is starting to look more and more like the dukakis-king george I campaign of 1988. an inept democrat being savaged by a smart, nasty, sharp, ethics-less group of horrible republicans. why can't kerry just say "this is a group of lying thieves and here's the proof"? what is it with democrats that prevents them from playing politics the way republicans do??? i despair for my party....but this is nothing new...i have been despairing for most of my life.......thanks to republicans who know how to be savages and democrats who know how to be idiots.

prediction: he won't mention abu ghraib (he can't pronounce it) nor will he mention budget deficits; the fact that saddam had nothing to do with sept. 11; the fact that he was asleep at the switch for 8 months before sept. 11; the fact that he has flip flopped more in 4 years than john kerry in 20 or that he has lost over 1 million jobs and thinks outsourcing is good!

Repubican Convention

what a load of hog wash! they say bush made "the tough decisions". like the decision to lie about saddam's supposed weapons of mass destruction? or the decision to lie about saddam's supposed ties to the sept. 11 lunatics? (of which there were NONE)....or wait, how about the decision to cut taxes on the top 1% of the american public with 42% of the total tax cuts? or, what about the decision to run up a coupla trillion in budget deficits? or what about the decision to flip-flop on "nation building"?? when running in 2000, bush said he wouldn't nation-build. what's he doing in iraq, other than stealing oil for exxon??? or, what about the decision to remain on vacation when, a month before sept. 11 he got a memo saying al qaeda was planning to attack inside the u.s.??? or, what about the decision to politicize the sept. 11 attacks??? it's SOOOO hard to make tough decisions to send other people to die in iraq while he hides behind the secret service, pokes his head out from all that security and says "bring 'em on"...oh, what a tough guy!! I AM SOOOO impressed. this stuff is nauseating...watching the republicans, who failed to do anything to stop the sept. 11 attacks, using the dead bodies for political advantage. or am i wrong???

illegal immigrants

should illegal immigrants get drivers' licenses? the california legislature just passed a bill - and sent it to the terminator - to do just that! arnold is free to sign the bill (thus making it law) or vetoing the bill - thus making it not law. since the legislature is out of business for the year, they will have a very hard time overturning his veto and making the bill into law over his veto (a 2/3 vote of the whole legislature is needed to do that, and the democrats who passed this bill don't have the 2/3 anyway). if people are here illegally, should they be given public acknowlegement that it's ok to be here - with a drivers' license?????? whaddayathink???
